Integrated Hub Delivery Phase 1 – Calderhead Switch Round

We were delighted to be appointed by North Lanarkshire Council to complete a hub delivery project at Calderhead High School in Shotts, North Lanarkshire. The works comprised the switching of existing HUB area and Hair and Beauty room including relocation of existing equipment, fixtures and fittings; reconfiguration of existing mechanical and electrical services; provision of new disabled toilet and entrance area; and full decoration.

Specifically, the works included:

  • Strip out of all existing floor coverings & existing equipment, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Existing power supplies isolated & made safe to facilitate strip out works and installation of new supplies to suit new layouts.
  • Strip out and cap off existing pipework ensuring no dead legs and reconfigure water supplies to suit new hair washing stations.
  • Hairdressing stations carefully taken down and laid aside for reuse.
  • Blocked up existing doorways and formed new entrances to suit new layout.
  • All new services & alterations such as hot and cold-water supplies, power, new LED lighting circuits, fire alarms & data altered in accordance with M&E Consultant’s drawings.
  • Carried out installation of new partition walls to form new accessible WC.
  • Carried out installation of new kitchenette within new hub room.
  • Re-installed hairdressing stations previously moved from existing Hair & Beauty Room.
  • All wall surfaces suitably prepared and cleaned & generally filled, sanded, and made good prior to the application of agreed finishing detail.
  • Carried out installation of new vinyl non-slip safety flooring to new hair & beaty room and new Burmatex carpet tiles to new hub area.
  • On Completion of Works carried out full testing and commissioning.
