Role and Responsibilities

Chris is our Contracts Manager and reports to our Operations Director, John Bremner. He is responsible for site set-up, health and safety, site planning, management of sub-contractors, and the Company’s own labour for projects up to a value of £1m. As Contracts Manager, Chris oversees operations on site on a day-to-day basis, and ensures that work is done safely, on time and within budget and to the right quality standards. He communicates regularly with our Operations Director, reporting any problems or delays, as well as keeping him up to date with general progress.

Background

After completing an apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery, Chris worked hands on with a local construction company before assuming the position of Contracts Supervisor. Chris oversaw large scale operations spanning the length and breadth of the UK, both supervising and coordinating an entire range of trades across the building industry. Eager to progress his career to the next level, Chris joined Cosmos Projects in June 2016 as Contracts Supervisor. After excelling in this role, he was quickly promoted to Contracts Manager. By implementing his technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills, Chris has continued to achieve success in this new role. A driven and determined individual, Chris prioritizes the needs of our clients to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction in any range of job he undertakes.

Experience and Qualifications

Examples of Chris delivering quality as Contracts Manager at Cosmos Projects include the alteration and refurbishment of the Optima Building entrance, reception and lift lobby for Cording Real Estate Group in Robertson Street, Glasgow (£42.5k); full refurbishment and sub-division of a warehouse in Seafield, Edinburgh for Whyte & Mackay (£600k); internal refurbishment of 2750 sqft office space at Smithhills Street, Paisley for the British Red Cross (£138k); refurbishment, alteration and upgrading works for Sulzer at their service centre in Dyce, Aberdeen (£50k); extensive repair works to a vacant 4,000sqft industrial unit in Hillington Industrial Estate, Glasgow for Patrizia UK Ltd (£50k); and various external fabric restoration works at a number of period properties for the University of St Andrews (£100k). Chris is qualified to SVQ Level 4 and SMSTS.
